The beautiful church for St. Rose of Lima parish was made possible through the generous gifts of members and others. The names of benefactors are listed in the Books of Honor and in the stained glass window display, located in the narthex.
Maintenance of the Church and ministries is dependent on the continued generosity of the parishioners and friends of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Gifts to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church are deductible to the extent allowed by law.
"Home Sweet Home" Rectory
In July 2007, St. Rose of Lima purchased a rectory for our priests, with a mortgage of almost $400,000. Paying off that debt is a top priority. With a minimum gift of $500, your name is inscribed on a brass plaque in the rectory itself, so all future priests of St. Rose can remember their benefactors in prayer.
Cell Phone Recycling
A collection box for used cell phones and cell phone batteries is located in the narthex. The parish is able to recycle these phones to provide funding for parish ministries and almsgiving.
Commemorative Gifts
Donors can honor friends and families with significant gifts made in their name. Please speak with the parish Director of Development if you would like to make a memorial gift. Glass plaques on the donor wall in the Narthex commemorate your loved ones. Minimum gift is $10,000; usual gift is $25,000.
Gifts of Stock and Real Property
A gift of stock is considered cash by St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Upon receipt of a gift of securities, St. Rose of Lima sells the securities and the value of the gift is determined at that time. A donor can reduce or eliminate capital gains taxes through a gift of appreciated securities.
A donation of property that is easily liquidated can also be a significant gift while reducing capital gains taxes.
Estate Planning? Consider a bequest to your church!
Please remember St. Rose of Lima in your estate planning. A gift to the church made by will, bequest, or insurance leaves a lasting message of stewardship. You can easily join the St. Rose Legacy Society by adding a codicil to your will or amendment to your trust - there`s no need to re-do your entire estate plan. Another simple option is to name St. Rose as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy. The names of Legacy Society members are inscribed on a brass plaque in the church Narthex.
You can bequeath:
The remainder or "residue" of your estate (i.e. what`s left after your other bequests are fulfilled)
A percentage of your estate
A specific dollar amount or specific assets
Your entire estate
A contingent bequest in the event your primary beneficiaries predecease you
Sample wording for a bequest: "I bequeath _________________ to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 100 Bishop Manogue Drive, Reno, Nevada 89511, a 501 (c)3 religious organization located in Washoe County, Nevada."
If you have already designated St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in your will, trust,or insurance policy, please let us know so we can enter your name in the St. Rose Legacy Society.
